The loops of the Brisbane river reminded me of the holes on a golf course. So I have represented the sights of Brisbane by following the river and what I think represents the loops of the river and in between.
About the artist
I identify as: A scientist, A rationalist, Disabled, Lesbian/Queer, An Equality Advocate (gender, race, special needs/ challenges; sexuality and age), An Environmentalist, A Feminist.
Many of these identities would be considered a minority group and underpin many of the messages expressed in my art.
I do Art for reasons of expression and experimentation rather than striving for perfect execution. I very much enjoy working with mixed media, which allows me to embrace the scientist in me through experimenting with different mediums, varying techniques.
I create 3D textural works of art that can be viewed many times and reveal different details, whilst incorporating a meaningful message and an aspect of accuracy both educational or scientific.
I hope people can enjoy the journey of each piece and their own interpretations, as well as try to decipher my inspiration for each artwork.
