For the sake of love & Dark Moon Rising [25 January - 5 March 2021]

Coinciding with BrisAsia Festival 2021, Art from the Margins brings together two exhibitions featuring three artists. The artists behind these exhibitions share a love for telling stories not usually found in mainstream media, that explore the diversity in the human condition.
Through powerful photographic imagery, For the Sake of Love explores the experiences of Tammy Law’s mother after leaving the stability of her family and friends in Hong Kong and migrating to the Sunshine Coast in the 1970s. In particular, the exhibition illustrates the way her mother was confronted with renegotiating her identity.
Alongside this, Dark Moon Rising showcases the collaborative works of Lim and Lys, in what they refer to as ‘surprising creative outburst.’ Consisting of photographs and videos, this exhibition reveals Lys’ humorous ingenuity through his extravagant performance in front of the camera.
