Entering my safe, happy place at Wesley Arts art therapy, I painted my imaginary lighthouse and the cat that inhabits it. He keeps watch with his luminous eyes on the ships passing by the headland.
About the Artist
Andrew McLean began his exploration of art therapy whilst being an inpatient in the RBWH. He experimented with painting, drawing, and sculpting and has been part of Wesley Arts since 2018. His favourite medium now is watercolour, having participated in workshops over the last 2 ½ years with Christine Butler. He finds art therapy relaxing and helpful to deal with lived experience of mental illness.
