Brain Blues – Depression 2022
needle-punch rugs, mixed/upcycled wool fibres
My works are visual representations of disorders, syndromes, and addictions, all of which are invisible to the naked eye but come alive using modern medical imaging - Thermal, PET and MRI.
This piece is part of a new series using reclaimed, natural and non-natural wool fibre needle-punched into a wall hanging
An image of myself was printed on fibre paste skinning set in muslin cloth, then the chemical formulas for Noradrenaline have been embroidered with pearl beads.
Is any one person truly ‘normal’ or are we each a unique variation of a type?
