Brooke Mott - You Don't Look Sick
original song accompanied by lyric sheet

Songs written in collaboration with Kassie Sofia at Rhythm Music Therapy, using a process I would describe as adaptive songwriting. We utilized a range of visual tools and breaking down of music into parts, to adapt the process to suit my neurodivergent/synesthete brain.
To accompany the original songs in this exhibition, Brooke designed accompanying lyric sheets. They said "I think I just love the feeling of getting a record and looking at the lyric sheet. I wanted to embody that, but take an artistic approach to it."
About the artist
Brooke is a passionate artist, writer and disability advocate who lives with a complex disability and is neurodivergent. Brooke's skills come to life through their creative practice, which powerfully symbolizes the impact of creativity in advocacy. Fueled by a deep passion for music, Brooke's art is inspired by their distinctive experience with sound. The expressive mark-making channels their synesthesia, while the use of texture embodies the joy of a sensory-driven approach to art.
