Seeing examples of screen printing when we started this project, I thought, “Wow wish I could do that one day".
I became infatuated with the way you cut a clear piece of plastic to make a stencil. Out of four prints you can make the most fantastic print. I’ve been so happy with this project, having AFTM to back me up 100% through the learning process, and give me all the help I need.
David Byrne's artist bio:
I have been practising as an artist for five years. I have twenty folios of tattoo designs and use these in my compositions mixed with oriental images.
I grew up in Melbourne, and from the age of 7 began collecting stickers. This practice of collecting and assembling stickers has influenced the way I now collage images of my own drawings.
I am happy with my art direction and intend on continuing to exhibit in the future. I have learnt through making my collages, that I need to use bigger and smaller images. I have worked extensively on the koi fish image and hand-coloured the image in pencils. This dramatic artwork combines my interest in tattoos and koi fish.
