Duane Doyle
Nunnee Gummoo - Land and Water

This painting has been painted about climate change from my own heart and imagination. It represents the strength of humans as we adapt to the changes in our land and water.
[About the artist] Duane Doyle
Duane Doyle is a Jiman man (Yimen) from Taroom and Carnarvon Gorge country. He identifies with his Mother’s totem, the googoobing (scrub turkey). Googoobing waters flow through the Browns and Comet Rivers in the Highlands of Central Queensland.
Duane strives to implement the power of Dadirri meditation in his artwork and lifestyle, deeply listening to country and it's people of all origins. His paintings often come about as an expression of the emotions that mark both positive and traumatic experiences in his lifetime. He generates symbolism in a contemporary way that draws from the traditional techniques passed on to him over a lifetime of painting. Duane is a proud painter with West End Community House and a predominant part of the West End landscape via his work as an arts and cultural educator. His artworks are featured in People's Park West End.
