[About the artist] Margarita Iakovleva

"I was born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Saint-Petersburg is a city of visual art, music and science. When you live in such an environment, you just have to become an artist, musician or scientist.

First, I studied in a children art school and after this finished an Art Institute. In Russia, I worked as a Graphic Designer and Fashion Designer.

I arrived in Australia 24 years ago. Here I studied Digital Graphic Design and continued to draw and paint. After many years I return to making etchings, which I enjoy very much. I double my enjoyment by choosing Australian animals as I love them very much. Also, in Australia, I learn photography, and now I photograph Australian animals and Brisbane city architecture."
