Women come from various cultures and show diversity in their temperament, dress,  work, and ideological outlooks. Most women can grow, give birth to, and nurture a child before menopause. Not every woman, but ONLY women, have that capability.

I am a woman, an adult female human, and womanhood goes deeper than identity.

Majeeda Cox

Naive artist, Majeeda Cox, has a simple way of applying paint that creates quiet compositions with an element of intrigue that makes you want to know more. Her work explores being human, and the balance between vulnerability, isolation and connection. It commonly features women, animals, celestial and other natural elements.

The colour palette and sense of light in Majeeda’s paintings are directly influenced by living in the Noosa Hinterland in Queensland. Majeeda is an autistic artist and is self-taught. She has been painting since 1997, alongside an active interest in photography.

Majeeda recently added exhibiting at Recovered Futures Art Exhibition in Brisbane, and Eclectica Art Awards at the Butter Factory Arts Centre, to a long list of exhibitions, and she had her first solo exhibition at Pomona Railway Station Gallery in 2020.
