With this work, I have used my abstract patterns in paint pen as a basis. Then, I have combined discards from a 3D printer and laser cutter. These discards have been transformed from rubbish into parts of an artwork. The wooden pieces have also been transformed by being painted.

About Alexandra Jack

Part of my DNA is being creative. When I am out in the world, I use my creative perspective to inform how I can incorporate the things I see into an artwork. I find that my head is full of creative ideas.

I build artworks layer upon layer and take things that are not considered art media and give them a new lease of life as part of an artwork. Some of the things I give a new lease of life are industrial discards from laser cutting and 3D printing. In the past, I have used things from nature such as gum nuts. I also use toys and paint them to change their look and then incorporate them in an artwork.

If it wasn’t for my creativity I would not be able to cope with the chronic pain that I have, and I would not be the person I am today.
